an update

24 December, 2006 · Leave a Comment

I know I haven’t written here in forever. I haven’t been in a writing mood in a really long time, I guess. I’m still not, but I thought I’d write a little update anyway.

I’m going to be done with ulpan at the end of next month which is really hard to believe. Right now I am beginning to study for the GREs (general test and subject test – yay!!). I am moving to Beit Hakerem with Elka in a few weeks. I really want to get a cat. Specifically, a tabby cat.

I am supposed to hear from the army “after Chanukah” whether I can join this year’s Garin Tzabar in spite of my old age (22). Garin Tzabar is my best hope for the army at this point. If I do that, I will be living on a kibbutz for a few months before I get drafted. I don’t think I am a hardcore kibbutz type but I think it could be cool for a few months, especially because it would be a change of pace from the city.

Jess stayed with me for a month while taking classes at Pardes and volunteering for an environmental sustainability organization. Now she is touring Israel with her family and she is leaving in a week:-( I got a stuffed Eeyore to replace her but he’s a subpar replacement for a best friend (sorry Eeyore).

Well, that is pretty much all there is to report on in my life!
